Dripper irrigation is common downstream of secondary treatment. Small emitters buried just below the surface release treated effluent slowly and evenly, which suits shallow soils and smaller disposal areas.
The system only works with clean effluent and clean filters. Emitters are small by design, so any carry-over of solids, biological growth or iron and manganese precipitation will block them. Filter maintenance and periodic line flushing are core service tasks.
