Septic Tank Not Draining

When several fixtures slow down at once, the problem is usually the system, not the plughole.

A single slow sink is normally a local blockage. When basins, showers, the laundry and the toilet all slow together, the restriction is downstream — in the drain to the tank, in the tank itself, or beyond it in the outlet and disposal field.

Gurgling is a useful clue. Air being pulled back through traps means the line is partly full. If levels in the tank are already high, everything upstream backs up behind it.
